Our client is a rapidly growing chemical producer in Chicago. For many years, this plant has had zero recordables and has maintained a high standard of safety in the plan. At this stage, they want to go further and improve the safety training for all of their employees, including office, sales, and clerical and human resource personnel. This person will oversee two sites totaling 120 personnel. This person will supervise one other safety engineer who is responsible for environmental compliance. When it comes to health, this company contracts their health department to an outside firm. This company has recently invested millions of dollars into further plant expansions and upgrades. EHS Manager, Humboldt, TN to 115K

HSSE Manager needed in the central Mississippi area, up to $100K plus bonus. .

REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Chemical Engineering or EHS related degree.
Candidates must have at least 3 years of Health and Safety in a production (manufacturing or chemical process) plant.
Experience with PSM regulations such as MOCs and PHAs is ideal.

Environmental Specialist, Greenville, NC to 90K
Join a world class chemical leader as an Environmental Specialist with responsibility for chemical approvals, spills/release management, water sampling, air stack testing, environmental inspections, and providing environmental representation on Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Pre Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
 
 Responsibilities:
 
 Water quality sampling and analysis: Obtain certifications as required by NCDEQ. Duties include but not limited to sampling NPDES outfalls, Potable and Wastewater system.
 Air Stack Testing: Participate in air stack testing, analyzing samples and preparation of reports.

 Serves as the plant site environmental contact for Coast Guard and waterfront facility-related activities. Responsible for developing and maintaining the Waterfront Facility Operations Manuals, and the Integrated Contingency Plan. Responsible for facilitating drills and inspections as required by these plans and the Coast Guard.
 Coordinates and facilitates development of the annual environmental refresher training provided to all employees at the facility.
 Develops the environmental topics presented at the weekly Safety Team Leaders meetings and the monthly Contractor Safety meeting.

Incumbent will maintain and promote measures to prevent any significant adverse effect on employees (TSCA), customers, general population, or the environment and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to Corporate EH&S Policy relating to Safety and the Environment. 
Prepares site EH&S reports and must submit to various agencies in a timely manner.
Coordinates review, approval, and procurement of site PPE.
Complies with Environmental, Health, & Safety requirements and procedures at all times. Performs other tasks as assigned.
 
The incumbent reports directly to the Plant Manager.
 
Requirements:  
The position requires a college degree in Safety and Occupational Health or relevant technical discipline.
The incumbent should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in related activities. 
Must be DOT/IATA certified in order to sign hazardous waste manifests. 
A CSP and/or CIH certification is highly desirable. 
Strong knowledge of Title V permitting and SCAQMD rules and regulations is a plus.
Excellent communication, analytical, and PC skills are critically important.  Ability to function in complex and ever changing environment which demands timely response to numerous critical issues is required.
